I’m going to try to do better!

Hope everyone has an AWESOME Christmas and New Year! I can’t wait to tell you about all the fun new stuff happening at AEP next year!

Anyway, little Jack was so sweet for his newborn session! He did so good and let me do anything I wanted. Such great little baby models lately, I’ll tell ya! Big sister Bella is so sweet with Jack and I know they are going to grow up to be great friends. Monica brought the CUTEST little antique doll bed I have ever seen. It fit Jack perfectly! I’m officially on the hunt for one for the studio. I may be calling her up to borrow it if I can’t find one though Anyway, here is little Jack and his sweet family. BTW, is Monica not the most gorgeous woman you have ever seen?!?! She’s just as beautiful inside as she is outside, which is the only thing that could keep you from hating her for being that gorgeous…….kidding!

This is Miss Prater Ellis Olson (no, she wasn’t named after me, but I like to think she was….hehe). She is so precious and I have been so anxiously awaiting her arrival since her sweet Mama told me she was pregnant months ago! Brittany (aka baby girl’s mama) is one of my dearest friends and I feel so blessed to know her entire family. Last year was a very hard year for them and Miss Prater was such a blessing and a fresh beginning for this sweet family. I am so amazed at God’s grace and his timing. He knows just what we need and when we need it! Prater was truly a gift from above.

This little girl was an angel for the entire session! I have NEVER done a newborn session as quickly as I did hers. She honestly slept the entire time and didn’t make the first whimper! I’ve been telling her (via the belly) for the last couple of months, that I was so excited about her first photoshoot and she was the perfect model. Here are some of my favorites from her session. Can you tell I love her just a little??

Anyway, as much as I love ALL of my clients, I have decided to focus my photography business exclusively on babies/children and families. This year, I made the difficult decision to quit all wedding photography due to the amount of time that goes into it. I felt like I was missing out on weekends with my growing boy. I always thought that when I went into this business, that I would do any and all types. Well, that my friends, isn’t possible anymore. I wish I had all the time in the world, but unfortunately I don’t. I will still be doing baby plans, all small children and family sessions. This is where my passion lies and I just have to make time to love on the little ones and capture them in their most sweet and innocent stages!

***These changes will take place starting Jan. 1st. As always, I will be taking off the month of December with the exception of my baby plan clients.

For this session, we met in Vanntown, TN at a sunflower field. It was SOOOOO hot that day! The sun was beating down on us and we were dripping with sweat. I should’ve brought my reflector that day, but Bekah stood in as my sun filter! Sometimes you just have to improvise We also took some of these at her family’s barn and gorgeous house. I loved this session and I’m so glad they choose me to photograph her first year!
